'' Terra Promessa ''

The sun dipped below the horizon, cast a golden glow over the jagged cliffs of Lampedusa. On this remote Mediterranean island, a profound story was unfolding, one that tugged at the heartstrings and challenged the very essence of humanity. In the small fishing village, I found myself involved in a project that had taken on a life of its own. What began as a personal exploration of immigration and childhood memories in Palermo had evolved into a series of visual narratives designed to capture the raw essence of those seeking refuge on foreign shores. who seek refuge on foreign shores.

My journey began in Palermo, a vibrant city with a rich history of welcoming migrants. It was here that I first encountered the stories that would shape my lens and ignite a passion within me. Every face, every scar and every tear told a story of struggle and resilience. Their tired eyes, with a spark of hope, spoke of the journey they had made.

Driven by an insatiable curiosity, I travelled to Lampedusa, an island that had become a symbolic beacon for those desperately seeking safety. As I stepped ashore, I felt the weight of their collective dreams and fears. I felt deeply compelled to capture their reality and reveal the hidden stories unfolding beneath the surface.

Camera in hand, I set out to document the current situation and shed light on the flood of migrants arriving on the island. Each photograph became a testament to the strength of the human spirit, to the resilience that resides within each individual despite the challenges they face.
